Ooni set to begin US tour

His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, has concluded arrangements to begin an official tour of the United States (US) on June 8, this year.
The young, stylish monarch would be bestowed the “Peace Ambassador” award by White House Faith Based Initiatives in Washington during the official trip.

Oba Ogunwusi would visit selected cities US cities during the tour between June 8 and 30 as part of an initiative designed to advance the relationship between the Yoruba and the US.
The mission, according to informed sources, is to attract foreign investors for economic development in Yoruba land.
His entourage would consist of prominent Obas (kings), with an expected visit of the state governors and other dignitaries.
The Oba’s messages would focus on facts about nature, culture and exclusive information on business opportunities in Nigeria in general.
The ancient city of Ile-Ife in Osun State is endowed with abundant natural resources, solid minerals, agriculture and varieties of artistic expressions.
Oba Ogunwusi would be in Baltimore, Maryland, African Village, Sheldon, South Carolina, Mobile Alabama, Atlanta, Georgia, Arkansas and Chicago, Illinois.
He has expressed desire to visit the Oyotunji, due to the close proximity, and it is being suggested that he visits the historic Penn Center on St. Helena Island, South Carolina, as well.
The history, diaspora ties, educational spiritual and humanitarian offerings of these two cities are essential to not only the Yoruba culture, but are also fitting momentous locations to enrich the visit of the entourage.
During the event, Sango of Africa would perform live at the Odunde Festival in Baltimore, Atlanta, Alabama, Arkansas and South Carolina.
